Treasure: A Boutique Hotel-Inspired Residential Design

Creating a Natural Atmosphere with Overlapping Textures

Inspired by boutique hotels, designers Peter Cheng and Sam Tsai have created Treasure, a residential design that combines natural materials and overlapping textures to bring a touch of luxury and a modern sense of fashion to the space.

Treasure is a residential design that draws inspiration from the ambiance of boutique hotels. The designers aimed to interpret a natural atmosphere by incorporating a variety of natural materials and overlapping textures. The use of these elements creates a unique and visually appealing environment that exudes sophistication and elegance.

One of the standout features of Treasure is the TV wall, which is constructed using heavy stones. This choice of material adds a sense of solidity and ruggedness to the space, creating a focal point that captures attention. Additionally, the designers have incorporated deep-colored mirrors into the design, adding a touch of modern fashion and a humanistic atmosphere.

The realization of Treasure involved the use of various materials, including marble flooring, veneer, metal, cultured stone, mirror, and wood flooring. These materials were carefully selected and combined to achieve a harmonious and balanced aesthetic that complements the overall design concept.

The specifications of Treasure are as follows: Width 150m x Depth 180m x Height 280m. These dimensions provide ample space for residents to enjoy the luxurious and comfortable environment created by the design.

Located in Taoyuan City, Taiwan, Treasure was completed in 2017. Throughout the design process, the team faced various challenges, particularly in finding the right combinations of materials to create a harmonious and comfortable hotel-like environment. However, their creative approach and attention to detail allowed them to overcome these challenges and deliver a design that exceeds expectations.

Treasure has been recognized for its excellence and creativity, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in 2019 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award acknowledges designs that demonstrate outstanding creativity, technical skill, and contribution to quality of life improvements.

With its unique blend of natural materials, overlapping textures, and luxurious ambiance, Treasure offers residents a truly exceptional living experience. The design successfully captures the essence of boutique hotels and translates it into a residential setting, creating a space that is both sophisticated and inviting.
